Beautiful Small Wedding
Times are changing, and we are adapting fast. I just wanted to just share the good experience I had a few weeks’ ago, before the latest restrictions, when I was invited to celebrate the marriage of a young couple, who had cancelled the fabulous wedding they had planned in Corfu, and replaced it with a tiny gathering in the garden at the bride’s family home, with a few family members and friends. The official registration of the marriage took place in the morning, and the ceremony happened later in the afternoon. Although it was a huge adjustment, and no doubt, there will be some kind of other celebration when the current circumstances have improved, and life returns to some sort of normal, it did not detract from the uniqueness of the occasion; in fact, it was the more moving because it felt so miraculous to be happening at all, and I was thrilled to be able to conduct it for them. Every detail had been so lovingly prepared to ensure it was the most beautiful day that it deserved to be, and it could not have been more lovely to see them exchange their vows in such a personal setting.
So, this is to give a message of hope to others whose plans may have been put on hold. There is a way forward; the only things that have to change is your mindset, and who knows, you may be nearer to realising your wedding plans than you have been led to believe. It may be different from what you had originally envisaged, but it can be every bit as special. Contact me to discuss how to make this happen!
