In the press over the weekend, and in The Times today p. 8/9 ‘A Handy Alternative to Mark the Big Day’, the possibility of finding a solution to your delayed wedding is discussed.  A ceremony shared online, centred on the ancient tradition of hand-fasting, and conducted by an independent celebrant, as an alternative to your proposed marriage ceremony, can mean that your life will not be put on hold indefinitely, and that you can get on with your marriage now in the time frame that was originally planned.  Your loved ones can be invited to join the ceremony via Zoom, and witness the vows that you exchange with each other in the privacy of your home or garden with perhaps one or two witnesses present at the required distance.  It is a simple as that.  It may not be quite the big day that was envisaged, but it will mean that you can move forward with your lives in the way that you had wished.   And, if, as is likely in the next few months, the government follows the U.S. example of allowing weddings to be registered online, then the backlog of delayed weddings and all the ensuing heart-break can be reversed, as you can then deal with the legal aspect easily and separately, whilst the central focus of your happy day will be made possible at a time of your choosing.

I am offering my services as an Independent Celebrant to achieve this, through my website: Hand and Heart Ceremonies, to enable such a ceremony to happen.

A hand-fasting is a charming and original way to exchange your vows – have a look at what some couples have said about their experience in my Testimonials
